How I became a videographer
I was born in Riga, Latvia. I love photography and videography since childhood. I had a camera with cassettes and a film camera at home. I loved spending time with my family and capturing the highlights of our life with camera.
In kindergarten parents gave me my first photo camera. In 2012 I was very inspired by YouTube and started filming vlogs and technician review. Due to this channel I earned my first money. My first video camera was a Kodak Playsport.
Some time later I bought a GoPro Hero 3+ Black Edition camera and shot most of the blogs and reviews with it. My first SLR camera was a Nikon D70.
During my school years I had to decide on a profession. My parents wanted me to become an military officer, but I had other preferences. I tried some courses for programmers, but realized It wasn’t my cup of tea. Then I was thinking about becoming a pilot, however this profession needed a lot of investment in training. Also, I took up dancing classes, I loved it a lot, but it was more like a hobby. Then one of my friends suggested the university of video shooting. And I decided to turn my favorite hobby into my profession.
During my university course I bought a Nikon D3300. I started making my first orders with this camera. In my second year of university, I purchased a Sony A6400, which I used to shoot most of my portfolio.
I acquired a lot of equipment, started getting more clients and created my own production. At the same time, I worked with other companies and gained a lot of experience.
In 2022 I received a bachelor's degree in Audiovisual Media Arts as a video operator. I filmed a huge number of different projects with Wild Republic, Latvijas Zinas, RTVI, Videocentrs, TV24, EWTN and Mercedes Benz. I worked with brands, weddings, events, conferences, meetings, advertising agencies, cinema production companies, bloggers, courses, concerts for Maneskin, Diplo, Raimond Paus, Laima Vaikule as well as many projects abroad.
